Let's go back to Green Lane for a fun weekend of camping, fishing, hiking/orienteering, rank advancement, and a cooking competition!

-We will be camping in Campsites xx-yy. MAP
-Turn Right into the Parking Lot before the "ROAD CLOSED" sign. Turn right near the restroom (small tan building) then make an immediate left into the sites. The trailer may be driven into the camping sites temporarily.
-Return to St. Johns on Sunday at Noon
-Drivers, please be at Green Lane by 11AM on Sunday 4 May
First Years: Be Prepared by using the Packing List in your Scout Handbook. We will discuss who has tents at the troop meeting (the troop has some).

Leave St. John's at 5:30PM on Friday 2 May
Arrive at campsite at Green Lane Park about 6:30PM.
Set up camp. Once we arrive, first help set up Troop Gear, such as the garage. We often bring the garage to summer camp, so its a good time to learn early.
Then set up personal tents. Try to set up away from dead trees and not at the bottom of a hill, if it rains.
Hang out on Friday evening with snacks and campfire
Saturday:
Scout Rank Advancement
Cooking Requirements
TOTIN CHIP
Fishing
Possible First Aid: Stretcher, Carry, Drag
Stay Hydrated throughout these activities by bringing a sturdy water bottle in a day pack.
There will be a "cooking competition" for dinner, so don't forget to impress the judges with your cooking skills!
As we learned through years of camping, please try to do KP as you cook! This way it is much easier and efficient at the end, with less pots and only personal gear to take care of. Check out the Two-Pot Method above.
Sunday Morning, it is a wise idea to take down your tents and pack personal gear as soon as you wake up, to avoid the hassle later.
Chefs will wake up earlier to start cooking.
Please help in Loading Troop Gear into the trailer. After, put personal gear in cars.
Return to St. John's at Noon on Sunday 4 May
Planning and Packing:
Cooking and tenting by patrol. We'll discuss this at the 4/25 Troop Meeting. You will see the preassigned First Year Meal Plan, assign buyers and chefs, and check your newly assigned patrol bins.
Patrol Gear: Consult a Troop Guide, ASM, or the Camping List in your Scout Handbook. CHECK THE WEATHER FORECAST!
