Friday April 17 to Sunday April 19 – Campout at Ockanickon Scout Reservation in Bucks County
Depart Friday from STJohns at 5:30PM
Return Sunday to STJohns at Noon
You may come part-time if you get your own ride; please let us know on the Sign Up form
First Year Scouts: You will soon receive a separate message with details on what to pack and bring (essentially what we covered during the Orientation)
During Low COPE (which stands for "Challenging Outdoor Physical Experience") on Saturday you'll participate in trust activities with your patrol, play Blind Swordsman, get over the wall, go through the spider web, and more! In the afternoon, Scouts can climb on the Climbing Tower or do Crate Stacking, a really fun activity that Troop 98 brought to Ockanickon. See how high you can stack before falling, or race against time or even another Scout to "claim the tower". When you fall, knock down the tower like Angry Birds!

Patrols leaders will work on menus and gear at the Troop meeting on April 10.
On this trip we are also working on improvements to the Ajapeu campsite as part of the "Adopt-a-Site" program. We've been asked to repair tent platforms, set up tents and cots, clear debris, and do our best to improve the site. Parents: please consider helping us out for a few hours on Saturday late morning or afternoon.
HERE are photos of the first time Crate Stacking was done at Ockanickon. Troop 98 suggested this activity and secured the donation of all the crates.
The photo below is a element of the Ockanickon High COPE Course. The course was destroyed a few years ago due to tree infestation but is being rebuilt in Spring 2026. Troop 98 is being invited to be the first troop to test it out and we'll learn more about it during the campout. Stay tuned for that opportunity!
