Come to Ockanickon for a fun weekend of camping, advancement, competitions, getting to know the camp in preparation for Summer Camp and working to improve the Ajapeu site!
Camping and outdoor skills (in Adirondacks or in tents)
Cooking, pioneering, fire-building, and orienteering
Wide games
Philmont hike-in/hike-out from Tohickon Valley Park (Philmont Scouts will camp at a different location on Friday night and hike into Ockanickon on Saturday morning)
If the weather and fire conditions are suitable, we may end up having the LARGEST BONFIRE we've ever made in Troop 98 (camp would like us to help with their "burn pile")
This is also our first week of work on the AJAPEU campsite as part of the Adopt-a-Site program at Ockanickon [DETAILS]. We've been asked to repair and improve tent platforms, clear brush, clear the moss and debris off of structures, improve the fire rings, and any other work we can do to make the site awesome. You can receive community service credit for this work.
Adults: we need help with some of the site work, since Scouts aren't allowed to use power tools or go up on ladders. Please sign up on the form if you can come help (all adults spending time with Troop 98 must have PA Background clearances).
