Hello fellow scouts! My project will be helping the Variety Club building benches and cleaning out the fire pit. The Variety Club's mission is to enrich the lives of children and young adults with disabilities through social, educational, and vocational programs that nurture independence and self-confidence, and prepare them for life.
Saturday (21st): 9am-2pm, at St. John's, sign up on the sheet. We will have lunch and some Dunkin' Donuts in the morning. Mostly older scouts, but all are welcome. We are cutting wood and building benches. When finished building the benches, we will take them over to the Variety Club and unload them into the fire pit area.
Sunday (22nd): 9am-2pm, at the Variety Club, we are going to clean out the fire pit with shovels and trash bags, as well as lay in some crushed rock in any cracks and the bottom of the pit. In addition to cleaning out the fire pit and laying in extra rocks, we will be cutting up the old benches that are in the fire pit area with handsaws and disposing of them. All scouts are welcome.
There will be lunch provided on the 21st and 22nd.
Scouts should wear protective equipment such as gloves, pants, long sleeve shirts and boots!
