HISTORIAN ROLES

INSTRUCTOR ROLES

The Troop Instructor teaches Scout skills when needed (and upon request from the PLC or the Scoutmasters).  An instructor should be proficient in a Scouting skill (or willing and able to become so). He must also have the ability to teach that skill to others. An instructor typically teaches subjects thatScouts are eager to learn—especially those such as first aid, camping, and backpacking—that are required for outdoor activities and rank advancement. A troop can have more than one instructor.

 QUARTERMASTER ROLES

The Quartermaster is responsible for managing the troop’s equipment, including tents, cooking gear, and other supplies. QMs help ensure that the troop has the necessary equipment and supplies to carry out its activities and events. The Quartermaster is also responsible for ensuring that equipment is properly stored and maintained between uses. Another important role of the Quartermaster is to ensure that the troop has the necessary equipment and supplies for its activities and events. This includes coordinating with the activity or event planner to determine what equipment is needed, as well as making sure that the equipment is properly packed and transported to the event location

The “Stuff Sack” keeps an inventory of shoulder tabs, patches, neckerchiefs and slides.  Order new and replacement name tags for Scouts and leaders.  Maintain “sample uniforms” and conduct periodic uniform inspections for the troop. The Stuff Sack has been incredibly useful and helpful during Covid! Thanks!
