2015 Wings 'N Wheels

Come help us at this really fun fundraising event for Angel Flight East (who transports children in need to specialized hospitals and doctors for treatment). Wings 'N Wheels is a Vintage Aircraft and Antique Auto Show at Wings Field in Blue Bell.  Troop 98 will help set up the dining area and trash boxes, keep them clean during the day, sell cold water from mobile wagons, and take down at the end of the day.

Here's what you (and your family) can do at this event:

  • Check out lots of cool planes and antique cars.  The "warbirds" are authentic World War II planes; they're big and LOUD!
  • Try out the aircraft simulator and check out a fully operating drone.
  • Go for an airplane ride in a small plane around Blue Bell.  It costs $35 and lasts about 15 minutes (be sure to sign up early, because they sell out!).  It's amazing what you can see when you're not too high in the air!
  • Check out the kids activities and displays.
  • Eat yummy food, including buffalo wings prepared by various restaurants that are competing in the "Wing-Off".
  • Help us set up and operate our MONKEY BRIDGE!
And Scouts can look and be impressive in their Scout uniform as they help out a really worthwhile event.

Please sign up for at least a couple of hours by entering your name in this  SIGNUP SHEET.  In addition to a lot of fun, the time you spend volunteering counts towards your service hours!  And check out the TROOP 98 PICTURES from 2013.

  1. Work times are in one-hour shifts starting at 8AM and ending at 4PM (so the last shift will be done by 5PM).
  2. Wear your Scout uniform and meet by the Troop 98 tent next to the Monkey Bridge and inflatables.  Scouts in uniform do not have to pay the entrance fee, but the rest of the family does (unless you're an adult helping us, in which case tell them when you enter you're on staff).
  3. Make sure you sign in and sign out for your work time(s) in order to get service hours credit.
  4. Bring money to spend on the food concessions.
  5. Prepare for sun with sunscreen and a hat.
