Whitpain Trails Day

Saturday, October 19, 2013 is "Build-a-Trail Day" in Blue Bell

Volunteers will be holding a "Build a Trail Day" from 12 to 4 pm on Saturday, October 19 in Whitpain Township's Wentz Run Park. The off-road trail is on Township property and helps to connect the park to Union Meeting Rd. and nearby neighborhoods.

This follows up on the December 2012 effort shown in this video.

Volunteers should park at Whitpain Township's Wentz Run Park. They will help to clear brush and limbs, line the trail with fallen logs, spread wood chips, and fill ruts and holes with gravel or dirt. Lopping shears, yard rakes, shovels, wheel barrows and gloves are requested. We are also looking for volunteers with carpentry skills.

This will be a "shovel ready" day with the potential to make a big difference in the walkability of Whitpain Township for families and employees in local businesses.  Please help us spread the word -- and the wood chips !

Please call or text or email Susan Mudambi (215-588-8230) if you can volunteer susan.mudambi@temple.edu. In case of bad weather, she will verify whether the event will still be held.
