Scouting for Food 2019

Why we do this:
A September report released by the U.S. Census Bureau revealed Philadelphia's poverty rate dropped to its lowest levels since 2008 while median household incomes rose. Philadelphia, however, still has the highest rate of poverty among the 10 most populous U.S. cities.

We will be collecting donations of money (and food) at the Acme on Bethlehem Pike in
Flourtown [MAP HERE], and using the money to buy $10 bags of groceries.

Can you help us on one more day so we can meet or beat our total from last year?

Scouting for Food is our annual food drive.  On Saturday 23rd November and Sunday 24th November please help us by spending at least an hour or two asking for donations as shoppers enter a grocery store.  We need help from 9AM to 3PM.   Some Troops and Packs drop off Scouting for Food bags or flyers door-to-door; we find that our success rate is much higher by soliciting donations at the grocery stores.  Check out pictures from prior year food drives here:  SFF2015  SFF2017

The time a Scout spends on this activity counts as service time toward his next rank and you can get some food shopping done while he's doing this!

Sign up for half-hour time slots by clicking here:

There's a sign-up sheet for each day.  Please make sure you're entering time slots for the correct day.

Help us break our record of 4091 pounds of food collected!
