Pine Barrens Canoeing and Camping 2018

Let's go CANOEING!

Saturday 8 June to Sunday 10 June in Wharton State Forest (the New Jersey Pine Barrens).

We'll leave on Friday evening at 5:30PM from St. John's, drive to our campsite and set up camp. The next morning we'll canoe for three to five hours on the Wading River (between 6 and 10 miles).  The river is very gentle here (in fact, so shallow in parts that you may be "wading") and no significant canoeing experience is required.  We will, however, go over some canoeing instruction and SAFETY at the troop meeting on June 1st.

At the end of the day we'll head back to our campsite, set everything up, have dinner and an evening game, then a campfire.  Maybe someone can tell the story of the Jersey Devil!  Return on Sunday at 12:30PM at St. John's.

There is an added cost of $15/Scout for this trip, above your patrol food cost.  No special gear is required (the canoe outfitters supply us with everything).

Meals: Eat dinner before you leave on Friday and bring some non-messy snacks for Saturday.  Patrols cook Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast.

RSVP by Friday June 1st HERE ==>  I'M GOING CANOEING!
