Saturday 12 December 2020 – Climbing and Crate Stacking at Ockanickon Scout Reservation in Bucks County PLUS Day Hike, Cooking, Advancement, and Optional Overnight

Come up to Ockanickon for the day and an optional overnight. Here's what we're doing:
  • Climbing Tower
  • Crate Stacking, a really fun activity that Troop 98 brought to Ockanickon (it's the only Scout camp where you can do this). See how high you can stack before falling, or race against time or even another Scout to "claim the tower". When you fall, knock down the tower like Angry Birds!
  • Finish outdoor-related advancement for ranks
  • Hike to High Rocks (Philmont prep)

  • Optional overnight campout staying at Ajapeu (in open-faced ads or in your own tent)

Leave from St. John’s at 7:30AM on Saturday.  Return at

Return to St. John’s on Sunday at 2:00PM.

  • YOU MUST GET YOUR OWN RIDES TO AND FROM THE TRIP

  • YOU MUST BRING AND WEAR A MASK THE ENTIRE TIME

  • Check the weather forecast and dress appropriately in layers (hat and gloves can be helpful, especially if you have to stop for a while for any reason)

  • If you're thinking of going to Philmont next Summer you should WEAR YOUR HIKING BOOTS AND CARRY YOUR BACKPACK (maybe put around 20 pounds of canned goods in it to be donated?)

The cost for the weekend will be $25 plus the cost of your patrol food.
