Camp Cards 2018


If you'd like to raise some money for yourself for Summer Camp or High Adventure (like Sea Base, Philmont, or even the Jamboree), consider participating in the CAMP CARDS program, which was set up by the Cradle of Liberty Council.  See details below and talk to Mrs. Miller at a Troop Meeting (or email/call her with details below) if you have questions or want to get Camp Cards.

  • What is a Camp Card?  It's a card that you sell to people so they can get shopping and activity discounts at certain places.

  • What does it cost?  You sell the card for $5.  You get $2.50 credit in your Troop 98 account for each card you sell (provided you turn in the money!).
  • How do I sign up?  See Mrs. Miller to pick up the number of cards you'd like to sell at a Troop Meeting.  You are responsible to Troop 98 for $5 times the number of cards you take!  You may return unsold cards but if you lose them you are responsible for their value.
  • Name entered into a weekly prize drawing for each 25 cards sold and entered once again for a final prize drawing (prizes are gift cards and camperships to Summer Camp). [you name is entered only if you turn your money in]
  • What exactly are the cards good for?  Each card has several discounts.  Some are one-time use (you tear off a coupon) and others are multi-use (you can use the discount over and over).  Here are the exact discounts:

– Save $5 off a purchase of $50 or more at ACME

– $3 off up to four general admission tickets at The Franklin Institute

– $5 off any large pretzel party tray at Philly Pretzel Factory

– Save $10 off up to six regular admission tickets at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia

– 10% off at Applebee’s Grill+Bar

– $10 off any Introduction to Climbing Package OR $5 off any Quick Climb Package at Philadelphia Rock Gyms

– Buy one pizza at regular price and get a second pizza of equal or lesser value for free at participating Papa John’s

– $5 off regular child or adult admission at the Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion

– Enjoy 10% off a regular priced Philadelphia Soul ticket

Ready to sign up to sell Camp Cards?
  1. You may request Camp Cards at any time. See Mrs. Miller at a Troop Meeting or email her at (or call 215-668-6266).

  2. As you sell Camp Cards, turn in money to Mrs. Miller at a Troop Meeting.

  3. The deadline to return unused cards is Friday, May 25th - NO EXCEPTIONS.  You can return unsold cards anytime before May 25 but not after.  All unreturned cards become your family's responsibility (meaning you have to pay for them).

About Fundraising in Troop 98...

Traditionally, Troop 98 has not carried out fundraising, although we make available to Scouts programs like this on an optional basis (also popcorn sales in the Fall).  Some parents have asked if we can do fundraising.  The answer is yes, but we ask that one or more parents volunteer to lead the effort and make sure we operate within strict BSA fundraising rules.  If you'd like to help, please contact the Scoutmaster.  Also, if the cost of Scouting ever represents a hardship to you, or you know of someone else for whom it does, please contact the Scoutmaster.
