WVWA Earth Day 25 April 2009

Saturday, April 25th

Service Project: Earth Day Trail Cleanup with Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association
Over 250 volunteers are scheduled to clean sections of the Wissahickon Creek, its tributaries and the Green Ribbon Trail. Following the clean up, the volunteers are invited to a “Talkin’ Trash” picnic at the Ft Washington State Park, Militia Hill, with food donated by Whole Foods of North Wales.

Mr. Parkinson will be leading the Troop 98 contingent.  We will be working on a section of trail near Whitemarsh Country Club (think of all the stray golf balls you can collect!).  This is a great way to get service time toward your next rank or toward the 8 hour requirement for Citizenship in the Community merit badge.

Meet at St. Dunstan's at 8:15AM.  Return at 1PM.  Parents are welcome to participate.  Wear shoes/boots that can get wet and work gloves, plus sunscreen and a ball cap (it's supposed to be great weather!).
