Goshen 2009


  • We've got a BUS to go to Camp Bowman at the Goshen Scout Reservation!  The cost will be $85 per Scout.

  • Please read the bottom of your permission slip carefully.  There is a list of things we need from you there.

  • If you need to complete Part C of the "Annual Health and Medical Form" you can find it here:  PARTC
WHAT TO BRING:    Everything you brought to Ockanickon plus the following.
  • eating gear:  plate, bowl, cup(s), utensils (knife, fork, spoon)
    Why?  We're not eating in a dining hall; we have "take out" food which you will eat with your patrol in your campsite

  • Camp chair
  • headlamp
  • bug spray
  • (optional) mosquito netting (you can get this at REI or WalMart)PERSONAL GEAR
  • partial cards - an excellent opportunity to complete these due to Open Program times at Camp Bowman
  • Long sleeve shirt and pants if you're taking Swimming or Lifesaving MB

WHEN WE'RE LEAVING:   
  1. Be at St. Dunstan's on Saturday morning, August 1st NO LATER than 5:45 AM. 
  2. The bus leaves at exactly 6AM. 
  3. Bring your "under the bus" gear to the side of the bus for loading then check in with the Scoutmaster for clearance to get on the bus with your "on the bus" gear.

    We are returning to St. Dunstan's the afternoon of Saturday, August 8th, approximately 3PM.  We will make phone calls to everyone on that day and update the website with a more exact arrival time.
WHAT TO BRING FOR THE BUS RIDE:
  1. Wear your Class A uniform shirt and pants/shorts.  You don't have to wear your neckerchief (but you should pack it with your things).
  2. Bring one or two bottles with water.  The bus ride is about 6 hours.  There is a bathroom on the bus.
  3. Bring a NON-MESSY bag lunch and snacks for yourself.  PLEASE do not bring food to share with others.
  4. Bring/wear a light jacket as it may be cold in the early morning.
  5. You may want to bring a book to read, a simple game to play (cards, UNO, nothing that makes NOISE).
  6. You may want to bring a small pillow.
  7. AS WITH ALL TROOP 98 TRIPS, YOU MAY NOT BRING ELECTRONICS OF ANY KIND.
  8. Put all your "on the bus" gear in a small backpack (like a school backpack or a small sports bag).  Make sure your name is on it.
