Brandon's Eagle Project

Brandon's Eagle Scout Project

This is Brandon, life scout and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 98. I am excited to announce that my Eagle Scout Project will be held on Saturday, August 14th from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM.  The project will take place at the Wissahickon School District Nature Center, an area of woods positioned next to Lower Gwynedd Elementary School. The nature center is on the corner of Knight and Houston Roads. There is plenty of parking available at the elementary school or Wissahickon High School. See google maps for directions. (Just enter your home address in the "A" field)

                                                                 RSVP Here

We will be placing signage on trees throughout the nature center in order to improve environmental education for elementary school students and other community members. We will build a wood chip trail in a designated section of the nature center. I will be able to provide a few tools, but scouts should bring anything that they can. I especially need scouts to bring shovels, garden rakes, power drills with 7/64 inch bit + screw driver bit, and wheelbarrows. Also, everyone should come prepared with work gloves. Parents are welcome to come and help. Lunch (pizza) will be provided at 1:00 PM (or earlier if we get done).

I need your help to complete my Eagle Scout Project and do service for our community. The hours that you put in will count as required community service for your next rank or for many merit badges. Philmont Scouts: To earn the 50-miler award after going to Philmont, scouts need to complete another 7 hours of conservation work. This would certainly count toward that.

If you can attend, please respond using this form AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I need to know how much food and drinks to buy. Thank you!
