2017 STEM in Scouting

We're planning a trip to Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD for the STEM in SCOUTING day. This was a great event last year with lots of cool science and military stuff. You need to register yourself for the STEM day and then let us know that you were accepted and that you're going.  We also need at least one adult who is willing to go for the day and be the "primary contact" for Troop 98.

If you're going to STEM, please do these two things:

  1. then CLICK HERE to let Troop 98 know you're going and if you want to camp

Some of the 27 merit badges and NOVA awards have prerequisites (meaning there's stuff you need to do before you go) and some don't.  Typically, if you do the prerequisites (and bring proof with you) and you participate in the merit badge class and activities, you can complete the badge.   You get to work on only one badge or NOVA award for the entire day.  Sign up soon as space runs out for some of the most popular badges!

We'll do this as a DAY TRIP but we may have an OPTIONAL CAMPOUT (if there's enough interest and adult leaders available):

Depart from St. John's on Friday 13 Oct at 5:45PM.

Return to St. John's on Sunday 15 Oct at Noon.

Cost: $25 for the STEM event (paid to Baltimore BSA when you register) PLUS your share of camping food cost if we camp out (Troop 98 will bill you).

Read about all the merit badges offered the PREREQUISITES at the bottom of THIS PAGE.

Here's some additional information you need to complete your registration. For the "Responsible Adult" on-site, please use the Scout parent's name for now:
